TROTTIN' ABOUT TOWN WITH HAIRY TROTTER

First and foremost, I love being on a post with my BFF Hamilton (now, what did he say?)  It's quite a "horse race" keeping up with my porky friend, but we always race to the top! I have a collection of "first" things and interesting facts that you'll read "first" on my post that are never second rate!

I'll be the first to admit that I have not been trottin' much this week - too darn hot here in Texas!  Let me show you what else is hot - Project Pugway Fashion Show!  Register now at dfwpugs.com to be a part of this great event.

Watch for the First Quarter Moon on Saturday, August 6. A first quarter moon comes a week after a new moon. A first quarter moon rises at noon, is high overhead at sunset, and sets around midnight. A first quarter moon shows half of its lighted hemisphere – half of its day side – to Earth, but we officially call this moon a quarter and not a half because it is one-quarter of the way around in its orbit of Earth, as measured from one new moon to the next!

  • The Titanic was the first ship to use the SOS signal.
  • The Mercedes-Benz motto is “Das beste oder nichts” meaning “the best or nothing.”
  • If a statue in the park of a person on a horse has both front legs in the air, the person died in battle; if the horse has one front leg in the air, the person died as a result of wounds received in battle; if the horse has all four legs on the ground, the person died of natural causes.

The First Family of the United States is the unofficial title for the family of the President of the United States, who is both head of state and head of government of the United States. Members of the First Family consist of the President, the First Lady of the United States, and any of their children. Isn't this a nice picture of the Obamas!

Winning doesn't always mean being first. Winning means you're doing better than you've ever done before.
- Bonnie Blair

Let's all enjoy The Good Life by One Republic (it does have the word bullsh** in the lyrics)
